Gun Safety Reminder

10/19/2026 9:52 pm

As the nation mourns the tragic school shooting in Oregon, this is a reminder about gun safety.

The Montgomery County Police Department provides free gun locks at each of their police district stations.

Responsible gun ownership requires keeping firearms secure to prevent theft and prevent those persons prohibited by law from accessing them. Maryland law states that a child under 16 cannot have unsupervised access to a loaded firearm.

"We Are All On-Duty" to protect our children, teachers, other school staff members, and our community.
